Nurse working to uplift and protect our communities

An experienced nurse, DeJonaé Shaw advocated for the National Workplace Violence Prevention Health Care and Social Service Workers Act, fought for fair contracts that improve wages for health care workers and improve patient care, and earned a 100% rating from Planned Parenthood for her work in protecting abortion and contraception rights.

Leader in her union working to make the economy more fair for working people

DeJonaé Shaw believes we must treat the lack of affordable housing as the crisis that it is. She is focused on improving the local economy by creating good-paying local jobs and building housing that working people and seniors can afford.

The only candidate endorsed by nurses and firefighters because she will treat the homeless crisis with the urgency it deserves

As a working nurse, DeJonaé Shaw has personally witnessed the impact of the homelessness crisis and is the only candidate endorsed by local firefighters who are often the first on scene for emergency response. DeJonaé will treat homelessness with the urgency it deserves adding professional teams of mental health and social workers, addiction counselors and first responders.

DeJonaé Shaw — Beating the Odds Her Entire Life

The odds were stacked against DeJonaé Shaw. An absent father and a mother battling addiction. DeJonaé overcame a challenging childhood, sought out mentors, and lifted herself out of the cycle of poverty and addiction that traps too many.

She rose above the negative influences that surrounded her to become her siblings’ protector. DeJonaé grew up fast, taking on parenting roles as a child to make sure her brothers and sisters were fed and succeeded in school.
